Dr. Adnan bin Abdul Badi bin Tawfiq Al Yafi
Dr. Adnan was born in Jeddah in Haret Al-Sham (Al Sham neighborhood) in 1950. He grew up there, as his father worked in textile trading in Qabel Street and Hujjaj Al-Bahr City in Jeddah. In 1967, Dr. Adnan obtained his high school degree. He received a scholarship from the Ministry of Education to the United States where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics in 1972 followed by a Master’s of Business Administration in 1978. In 1983, he received his Ph.D. in Operations Research from the University of Texas at Austin.
After his return to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Adnan worked as a Deputy Director General of the Hajj Research Center for ten years, in addition to being a member of the faculty at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, then moved with the transfer of the Research Center to Umm Al-Qura University. After that, he moved to private work by establishing a company for Hajj and Umrah services.
Dr. Adnan is considered one of the distinguished experts in the researches of organization and movement of Hajj, in addition to his interest in the history of the city of Jeddah. He has contributed with his expertise to many lectures and press interviews, in addition to many researches and publications in both Arabic and English.

1- Management of Movement Systems in Hajj 1993.
2- A book on managing movement systems in Hajj, in English, 1993.
3- The Arab Family: Origin and Formation, Cairo House, 2005.
4- Jeddah in the fragments of Al-Ghazawi 2010.
